De eerste reis:
Bijouxxx: Van 11 november 2003 tot en met eind maart 2004 bezocht ik kinderen in Tanzania.
De eerste twee maanden werkte ik met verstandelijk gehandicapte kinderen in Sibusiso in Arusha. Een centrum opgericht door Atty Hammer-Roos. Atty had mij uitgenodigd om in het centrum te komen werken. Daar werkte ik als creatief terapeute, clown en masseuse. Rondom Arusha bezocht ik kinderen in weeshuizen en werkte ik met straatkinderen. Verder bezocht ik kinderen en ouders in een groot ziekenhuis in Moshi (KCMC). In februari reisde ik voor een maand naar het zuiden naar Morogoro. Daar gaf ik drama, clownerie en ontspanningsoefeningen aan dove kinderen op een lagere school. In Morogoro bezocht ik tweemaal een groot weeshuis. Alle twee gerund door nonnen. Het was een feest om met de peuters en kleuters te spelen. Terug in Arusha kwam ik in contact ontmoette autistische kinderen en hun familie.

Tanzanian clowns tour 2005
To prepare for the first clowns tour in Tanzania I visited Tanzania for 5 months from november 2003 untill march 2004 and one month in august 2004. I visited many places to orientate myself to make a clowns groups journey and it feels great to tell you the results.
Most people are very enthousiastic for clowns to come. In Tanzania people do not know the idea of a clown with a red nose.
But every time when I met people and they start to know me a bit they laugh when I put the nose on me or on them.
So to do this tour, we have to clown first without nose. People are very afraid of black magic. The children are fantastic, very very open and enthousiastic. One of our two bus drivers is a Masaï man. He loves to come on the tour and clown as well.
We also have two tour guides.
Two or three Tanzanian people will be with us on the tour, sponsored by all of us.
Our tour will start on the 5th of september. We will all meet the 4th. Of course you can come earlier.
This will be the program, roughly:
Day 0 – Arrival in Arusha, Kilimandjaro Airport, go to hotel and rest and look around.
Day 1 -Arusha -SOS Orphanage and city tour.
Day 2 – Arusha – Orphanage in Ngaranga,
school or Monduli rehabilitation center for children, who have had ortopedic operation.
Day 3 – Arusha – Sibusiso, center for mentally handicaped children.
And visiting streetchildren ( CCF )
afternoon, leave for Moshi, 1-1/2 hours drive.
Day 4 -Moshi – KCMC Hospital,
Amani center for mentally hadicaped children.
Day 5 – Moshi /Lushoto. Leave for Lushoto, 4 hours drive. This is in the mountains, very beautiful.
Maybe orphanage or rest and walk to fantastic viewpoint.
We will stay in a very nice lodge with great food.
Day 6 – Lushoto – Lushoto Hospital and the Rainbowschool for handicaped children. Also autistic children.
Day 7 – Lushoto/Morogoro. This drive is 8 hours to Morogoro.
Day 8 – Morogoro – Orphanage for small children run by nuns.
Kilakala unit (school) for deaf children
Day 9 – Morogoro, we will drive to Dodoma . A two hours drive. We will visit a big Orthopedic, revalidation hospital. Than we will go back to Morogoro.
Day 10 – Iringa – Drive to Iringa, about 8 hours.
Day 11 – Iringa – Visit hospital and a children center.
Maybe we go to Dar Es Salaam to get a plain to fly back to Arusha.
Day 12- (Iringa – Arusha. We fly back by airoplane to Arusha.) Goodbuye party.
Day 13 – Arusha. We can visit more schools or a center for streetchildren. Or stop. Who wants can fly back home.
Day 14, 15, 16…..For who want we can go on safari for one or two or three days, camping.
The tour costs 1500 dollars. No visa, (50 dollar) insurence and your planeticket included.
From this money we pay: all the food, all the hotels, the bus we rent, the wages of our drivers and guides. It is good to bring dollars for pocket money. I also like to donate some money to two schools for handicaped children near Arusha. I know the two woman who started these schools.They are doing fantastic work. They all the time ask for my support.
The group will be between 10-15 people.

In mei 2007 organiseert Clown Bijouxxx de tweede clowns tour naar Tanzania. We vertrekken met 15 clowns en daar komen 5 Tanzanianen bij die met ons mee reizen.
In december 2007 is Clown Bijouxxx naar onder andere Mwanza geweest om daar voorbereidingen te treffen voor de derde clownsreis, in 2009.
JANUARI 2009
Na de lunch in Arusha National Park.
Begin januari 2009 is Bijouxxx in Tanzania geweest om daar met straat-en weeskinderen die in Moshi in een centrum wonen een dag op SAFARI te gaan. Deze kinderen hebben de dieren en natuur in de parken in hun eigen land nooit kunnen bezoeken. Dit als leerproject en kerstkado.
